The old year is almost out the door. Remember all the hysteria/anticipation that y2k was going to bring technology to its knees? ATMs would freeze up, bank vaults would be locked forever, there would be total chaos. So.... we took cash out of our accounts, paid all the bills, and partied. What a letdown... nothing happened. Even the VCR rolled over and kept recording our favorite shows. We, along with most of our friends, were still spending $100 bills in April. But the party was spectacular. Now we are coming up on 2009 and we've moved on to high definition TV that's close to 3-D, a return to low gas prices, and a promise that the bad things in our national life are about to begin to improve; we will regain some of our international respect. May our troops come home; may there be peace on earth; may we love our neighbor as ourselves; and may our true prosperity be our good health, our families, and our friends.
