History in the making

Today we watched Barack Obama become our 44th president. It was a real thrill! Our local sports bar offered special food and prices to entice us to come join others and view the inauguration on big screen tv. It was a great experience.... folks were quiet and respectful during the invocation (Jesus' name was really mentioned in the prayer)and the president's speech. And the speech was awesome! I had tears in my eyes, as so many of the spectators did. He cautioned us that the road would not be easy and there would be sacrifices, but he also firmly stated that the privileged and wealthy were no longer "in charge". I am very psyched and encouraged. Hopefully, the attitude toward our country will be different when we get to Europe in April.
