The mountains are is full of festivals - The Wooley Worm Festival in Banner Elk, and one of our favorites, The New River Festival in Todd. Here's Bob with his banjo teacher, Randy, who plays with one of the Bluegrass bands.
Our approach to the river from
the Visitor's Center
As the leaves change color and fall, we get a better view of the river. On warm weekends, the paddlers are out in full force, and we can see why. We haven't been on the river lately, but enjoyed a beautiful hike to Allegany on Sunday.
Actually, I'm holding up this
tree on our hike.
Ranger Jeff led the hike.

Our fall here in Scotland is coming on well another few days in my area and it will be at its best. Love Joan.
